Neu Phygital Reserve Berhad Secures Strategic Partnership for the advisory of US$1.1 Billion, 200 MW Data Center Developments in Malaysia [25 September 2024]

KUALA LUMPUR (September 25): Neu Phygital Reserve Berhad, a leading Malaysian data center developer and a subsidiary of Nexgram Holdings Berhad, has signed a Head Investment Agreement (HIA) with an international business advisory firm (“DC-ADVISOR”) to develop data centers for hyperscale operators with offtake customers. The collaboration marks a significant milestone, setting the stage for two flagship projects under the Neu Nexus Data Centre (“NNDC”) brand.

NNDC is currently shortlisting partners, including data center operators, construction firms, and prospective customers in telecommunications, AI, and large-scale data mining services.

Project Highlights:

  • Parcel A: A 50 MW data center on 5.9 acres in Cyberjaya, with an estimated investment of US$292 million, expected to begin between 2025 and 2027.
  • Parcel B: A phased 50 MW to 150 MW development in Johor, with the first phase costing US$300 million, targeted to start between 2027 and 2030.

With an estimated 70% offtake commitment from global data center operators, Neu Phygital Reserve Berhad is poised to capitalize on Malaysia’s growing data center market, which is projected to achieve a CAGR of 13% through 2030. The favorable business environment, low electricity tariffs, and supportive government policies make Malaysia an attractive destination for hyperscale data center projects.

“Malaysia’s strategic location, coupled with our expertise, positions Neu Phygital Reserve Berhad to become a key player in Southeast Asia’s hyperscale data center industry,” said a company spokesperson.
